All students will get the opportunity during their final semester to work side-by-side with a career services team member to craft a cover letter and resume that will catch an employer’s attention.

Once you have a resume & cover letter that gets you interviews, you will also need to follow up. We can help you write thank you messages that stand out and give you tips to determine how to best get those messages to your interviewer—email, cards, or even via networking platforms.

Your resume isn’t the only tool you need to show employers that you are a strong candidate for employment. A robust LinkedIn profile can stand alone or compliment your resume to present yourself favorably to employers. And it’s very likely that employers will look at your other social media profiles too. We can help you leverage the appropriate content employers are looking at and identify the content that raises flags.

It should come as no surprise that those who are well liked by their peers tend to be reviewed more favorably and recommended by others for advanced roles and leadership positions. Understanding different personalities and learning how to work effectively with them goes a long way in the real world. Your own emotional intelligence, active listening, and other communication skills are powerful tools and can be learned.

We help you with the technical details involved in keeping your portfolio up to date and ready for the next opportunity. More importantly, our team of career services professionals can provide insights on building, nurturing, and retaining relationships with colleagues. After all, those relationships will support the details in your portfolio.
Professional relationships extend beyond the immediate relationships you have with your co-workers. There is value in having professional relationships with who you may not have—or even ever—work directly with. These could be employment partners, researchers, vendors, or even your neighbor who works in an entirely different role in the field of healthcare.
Networking involves nurturing established professional relationships, developing new professional relationships, and leveraging those fringe professional relationships. These are all important relationships because you never know who somebody knows.
